Lord, 1854 telling of Lords' preparatory training for entrance into the Academy; cadet letters, 1862 describing life at the Academy and discussing his academic problems. In a letter dated 21 June 1860 Lord asks his father's permission to resign; 3 report cards, 1860; letter, 14 April 1865 from his nephew J.G. Chapin relating the movements of his division.
